Snowy Terrai

Terrain scan of a snow covered forest area processed in PhotoScan and tiled using Substance designer 6 new nodes. The scan area is around 2 meters wide and just over 1 meter tall. From this I baked a 1 meter square section for the starting Base,Normal,Height, and AO maps.

New tiling and cloning nodes work pretty well for creating a tillable texture out of the scan.

Tip for when doing ground scan mark out the size you want to scan so you know your boarder while shooting the images.

Dropping the gloves

Another sports equipment scan. This time my well used hockey gloves. I wasn't sure how the glossy surfaces would hold up but they came out just fine.

Trick for scanning on a turn table, I find shooting against a white background to work the best Photoscan will ignore it as long as it's evently lit with no shadows. Also helps by adding some bounce light to your object.

Gnome revisited

More scans. This guy was one of my 1st test cases 2 years ago. Decided to rescan using my new pipeline. So many improvements in the process :)

Hockey Skate

Haven't had a chance to write anything for here lately, but will soon. For the time being here's a few render of one of the scans I'm working on
